Attended Cremation. Chapel and Cremation bookings enable family and friends to attend a cremation service and use other facilities provided at our Crematorium. Funeral services can be religious (for any religion or denomination), non-religious/non-denominational meetings, or Celebrations of Life without any religious association.
Holding the Ceremony and Committal combined as a single event in the comfortable, well appointed and fully accessible Crematorium Chapel is more convenient than a Church Service followed by a trip to the Crematorium. Our Standard Cremation enables you to hold your ceremony throughout our peak times on a weekday and also on Saturdays (for an additional fee). A full range of audio-visual services including Live Streaming are available.
A Standard Cremation is a suitable choice when:
Family and friends prefer to mark the passing with a funeral held in the presence of the deceased but there is no particular attachment or connection to any religious building.
The bereaved prefer to hold a ceremony at the most convenient time for other mourners to attend, or at weekends.
You wish to avail of our full range of services, which might include a service/celebration of life of longer duration, or a weekend ceremony.
All the services of the Crematorium and its grounds are available to you including the use of our Chapel and Gardens. You may mark the deceased by choosing to erect a memorial at a later date. You will be fully supported at all times by sympathetic chapel staff. Should you choose this service Memorialise will assist you further in finding the best-value local funeral director to meet your needs according to your wishes and budget, and the services you require.
Get cheaper terms for if you book your attended cremation at our less-busy times.
Off-peak slots incur lower fees so if you want to keep the cost down and still have a fully-featured cremation service when the Crematorium is less busy this is a good option. Note that the slots can be slightly shorter than allowed for a Standard Cremation and you cannot opt to buy more time, but the quieter times can offer a calmer experience and otherwise the facilities and services offered are identical.
An Off-Peak Cremation is a suitable choice when:
Family and friends require to mark the passing with a funeral held in the presence of the deceased in a more tranquil and calming environment.
The time of the event is not critical to your mourners. By taking an early slot, the event does not occupy the whole day.
As with the Standard Cremation you can add a full range of additional services. The service is not inferior, only cheaper because of the time it takes place.
Not suitable if you want a ceremony towards the middle of the day, but almost all the facilities available for a Standard Cremation including live streaming and audio visual are available. You save money on the booking because of the lower service cost. Should you choose this service Memorialise will assist you further in finding the best-value local funeral director to meet your needs according to your budget and the services you require.
With Direct Cremation is an alternative to a traditional funeral ... More there is no funeral service and you will need to agree a date and time for delivery. You will not be permitted attend the actual cremation. This option includes cremation fees only (see below).
Direct Cremation is always the cheapest option but if you book directly with the crematorium you will need to arrange for the collection of the body from the place of death and its delivery to the crematorium as well as provision of a coffin or shroud. Memorialise can assist you in finding a Funeral Director to transport the body and assist and advise in your choice of coffins and shrouds.
Direct Cremation is a suitable choice when:
You wish the body to be cremated at this particular location. (Direct Cremations purchased through a funeral director may not allow you to choose the location).
A Funeral Service or ‘Celebration of Life’ is being held elsewhere before or after the Cremation but you prefer the Cremation to take place without people present.
You want to “Do it Yourself” as much as possible for either belief reasons, or because you are on a very tight budget.
The least expensive funeral option available and an increasingly preferred choice in a world where people have often lost contact with their roots and/or where friends or celebration have become more important than family or funeral ceremony. If you are willing to a buy a shroud direct and transport the body there is no cheaper option aside from home burial.
