Markeaton Crematorium

Markeaton Crematorium in Derby, Derbyshire, is located just off leafy Markeaton Park and offers a tranquil location for funeral services. With facilities suitable for funerals of any faith or denomination, as well as non-religious funerals and celebrations of life Markeaton Crematorium has two chapels available for services:

• The Main Chapel, which seats 98 and has some standing room.
• The Round Chapel, which seats 36 and has limited standing room.

There is a separate waiting room for each chapel with toilet facilities; disabled toilet facilities are available off the Main Chapel waiting room.

Service times are available between 9am and 3.20pm. Services are scheduled every 40 minutes; this allows 25 minutes service time, and 15 minutes for chapel preparation, entry to and exit from the chapel.

Each chapel has a Wesley music system with a wide variety of music available.

The visitor’s car park is accessible off Markeaton Lane, and is well signposted.

There is a small car park next to the main building for use by less mobile and disabled visitors and following-family cars.

The Crematorium has a ramp for wheelchair access into and out of the chapels and the office. A wheelchair is available for use on request.

Only assistance dogs such as guide dogs are allowed into the grounds and chapels of the crematorium.

Markeaton Crematorium offers interment and the scattering of ashes in is memorial grounds, with a range of memorial masonry and other tributes available. The grounds are open to visitors seven days a week, with parking available.
